BACKGROUND
Charles McLaughlin, the president of McLaughlin Consulting Group, has been deeply involved with flat panel plastic substrates, coatings, and films since 1983 when he founded Taliq Corporation, the pioneering company in polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) displays and switchable window shading films. During his eight years as CEO of Taliq, the company built revenues from sales of flexible film reflective color displays and window films for architectural markets. Taliq also successfully licensed its extensive portfolio of IP to both Japanese and European companies. During the past decade, MCG has sustained its interest in plastic flat panel technologies by conducting a series custom market and technology research projects for leading multi-national chemical and plastics companies as well as supporting start up companies in formulating their business plans and gaining financial support.
CUSTOM STUDIES
As a matter of policy, MCG retains the right to use all of the data and information it develops through it surveys conducted for custom projects. MCG can use such data in future multi-client as well as other custom studies. However, information about the companies who sponsor the research and their technology, products, and strategies are held in strictest confidence.
RESEARCH OVERVIEW
The attached table summarizes the thrusts of the MCG studies. The research has been sustained over nearly 10 years with periodic focus in specific areas. MCG uses existing market forecasts for overall flat panel sales as a jumping off point to develop its in depth analysis. Recent work has been largely derived from the Fuji Chimera Research series of reports.
NEXT STEP
If you are interested in learning more about our research please contact Chuck McLaughlin. A typical new project will start with a presentation and overview of the existing research and data. MCG will then work with the client to update critical information and focus on drilling down in specific areas. Projects are typically handled on a fixed price contract basis.
